“Tradition meets Innovation”
...is a central theme of our law firm's 50th anniversary celebrations this year.
So it's fitting that, after 2012 and 2019, we were able to showcase the more than 500-year-old tradition of the Schäffler dance (Coopers’ dance) to our team, regional business partners, and the assembled neighborhood of Vimy Park, where our offices are located, for the third time.

The Schäffler dance originated around 1517, when the plague raged in Munich and thousands died.
Everyone was in a terrible fear of death, and so no one was seen on the streets. Even after the plague disappeared, no one dared to leave their homes for a long time, so that doctors feared that this situation could lead to new diseases.
Then an anonymous citizen had the idea that an antidote was needed to cheer people up with a fun spectacle. This brave citizen belonged to the coopers' guild. Many courageously joined in to help carry out his plan, and they all danced together.

Many thanks to the Munich Coopers' Guild for keeping this traditional spectacle alive, and to Leonie Spitzauer-Peintner, who spontaneously put her profession as a photographer to good use and took and provided us with the pictures.
