ModulFix –
No other tensioning rubber
is as customisable

07.01.2025

Shark Tank of Patents

ModulFix is designed to eliminate the weaknesses of conventional tensioning rubbers (season 10, episode 6, of the TV show "Die Höhle der Löwen" (German version of the US show Shark Tank and the UK show Dragon's Den)).

In particular, it is often the case that the hooks/carabiners do not optimally match the respective application and it is sometimes cumbersome to find a suitable mounting option. In addition, the cumbersome length adjustment of the tensioning rubbers is to be simplified.

The special feature is (see Fig. 2A of EP4006377B1) that the ModulFix, which is referred to as a fixing and tensioning device, has a base body 18 and an adapter element 22 with a through-opening 28 that forms a fastening means for an attachment 30.

In contrast to this, the prior art only describes connectors (see Fig. 1 of US3151212A) in which an antenna wire 21, 22 runs through a cap 13, which is connected to a bifurcation 12 via a connecting body 10, among other things, but the bifurcation is not connected by means of a through-opening.

Conclusion

ModulFix offers a well-thought-out and innovative solution to address the shortcomings of conventional elastic straps / expanders by specifically tackling their weaknesses. Notably, it features flexible length adjustment and the ability to attach accessories individually, achieved through its unique construction with a base body and an adapter element with a through-hole.

These characteristics provide enhanced handling and versatile applications compared to existing market solutions. In contrast, traditional connectors from the prior art, such as those described in US3151212A, appear less adaptable and user-friendly. ModulFix, therefore, stands out with its increased functionality and flexibility, representing a significant advancement in the field of elastic straps.
